How to download your Instagram data
Go to your profile, tap ☰ in the top-right corner, then scroll down and tap Accounts Center.
Inside Accounts Center, tap Your information and permissions.
Tap Export your information — this opens accountscenter.instagram.com in your browser.
Tap the blue Create export button at the top of the page.
A profile picker appears. Select your Instagram account — not your Facebook account.
When asked where to export, tap Export to device to save the file directly to your phone or computer.
Set Format to JSON and Period to All time. Then tap Create file.
Instagram asks you to re-enter your password for security. Type it in and tap Continue. Instagram will now prepare your file.
Wait a few minutes, then return to Export your information (same page as step 3). A Download button will appear — tap it.
Drag your Instagram .zip onto the box below, or click to browse. Everything is processed locally in your browser — nothing is uploaded or stored.
